BRAYSHAW TO DEPART AFL COACHES ASSOCIATION

The AFLCA Board has accepted the resignation of its CEO Mark Brayshaw, who is departing the AFL industry in April having been appointed CEO of Levin Health, a medical Cannabis start-up company.

AFLCA Chairman Greg Nichols thanked Mr Brayshaw for his service to the Association and wished him well.

“Mark has led the Coaches Association for the past six years through a sustained period of growth and change. As he leaves, we find ourselves in a very sound financial position with excellent levels of member satisfaction. Under Mark’s leadership, we are held in high regard within the AFL Family. The Association has been particularly important assisting coaches cope with the COVID-19 fallout. On behalf of the Members, we thank Mark and wish him well for the next phase of his career.”

Mr Brayshaw expressed his gratitude to the coaches and industry as he heads for a new challenge.

“I have loved this job. The coaches have inspired me with their work ethic, empathy and candour. I’m lost in admiration for the role they play in our game and have been very grateful for the support I’ve received from them and this wonderful industry. After six years at the AFLCA, and a long time in AFL administration, it’s time for a new challenge outside of the AFL. Levin Health is an Australian start-up pharmaceutical company using medical Cannabis for the treatment of Chronic Pain in people wishing to stay active. I’m very excited at the challenges presented with joining a new industry.”

Over the next fortnight, the AFLCA Board will engage with its membership ranks before inviting expressions of interest for the CEO’s role. Mr Nichols said the Board was confident that the new CEO will be chosen from a full field.

“From early February, we anticipate having a thorough Position Description available on www.aflcoaches.com.au with instructions for applications interested in the role. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of the AFL industry, who will enjoy the confidence of the coaches and our partners. We are confident there will be significant interest in the position.”
